Counselling and Psychotherapy
Maree offers counselling and psychotherapy within a compassionate, trauma informed, safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted. Maree brings over 25 years of experience supporting children, young people, and their families across diverse settings, including recreation, out-of-home care, child protection, and community projects. In 2020, Maree transitioned into counselling, carrying with her a deep, practice-based understanding of intergenerational and complex trauma.
Maree works within the context of family, providing generalist counselling support for young people and adults. Her work supports individuals in exploring the impact of early relationships and life experiences on current patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating. This therapeutic process can foster greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-compassion, while moving toward a stronger sense of identity, meaning, and wellbeing.
Maree works holistically and draws on a range of evidence-based and client-centred modalities including Somatic and Mindfulness-based practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic approaches. Maree's practice is collaborative and responsive, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, developmental stage, and therapeutic goals. As a neurodiverse practitioner, Maree will work alongside you and your nervous system in a compassionate, neuro-affirming way, fostering safety, understanding, and acceptance.
